Learn from the Best-Selling eBooks on Amazon
As a self-published author you do not have to try and re-invent the process or model for successfully marketing and promoting your eBook. You simply need to learn how the best-selling authors do it. Study their eBook marketing model and that add in your own unique marketing techniques.
This post is designed to help you find the best-selling authors and eBooks on Amazon so you can begin studying how they became best-sellers.
There are two key steps:
Step 1. Locate the best-sellers on Amazon that are most relevant to your eBook
Step 2. Research, study and analyse the best-selling eBooks
Step 1. Locate the Best-sellers on Amazon Most Relevant to Your eBook
a. Go to www.amazon.com and you will be presented with the home page listing all categories of products available.
• Locate the tab ‘Shop by Department’
• Scroll down to ‘Kindle’
• Hover over the word ‘Kindle’ and click on the ‘Kindle Books’ link
• You will now be taken to Kindle Books homepageb. Find the Best-seller Lists
• Then scroll down until you come to ‘Popular features’
• Under this heading you will see ‘Kindle Best Sellers’
You can also locate the best-seller lists by:
• Clicking on a link at the top of the page
• Viewing the top ten best-sellers listed in the right menu

Now it is time to find the information that will help you learn how these best-sellers succeeded.
In the left menu, locate and click on the genre / category that is most relevant to your eBook. On this page you find the list of Top 100 Paid and Free books in the Amazon Kindle store.
On the right side of the page you will see:
• Hot New Releases
• Best Sellers
• Top Rated
d. Narrow Your Search to the Subcategories
Often you will find greater success when you can narrow down your target audience and promote your eBook to those who would want to buy your eBook. For example, not everyone who reads crime fiction eBooks enjoys every subcategory of crime fiction.
In the left menu you will see a list of subcategories within the main category
e. Continue to Focus on Your Ideal Reader
Continue to click on the links in the left menu until you can go no further in delving deep down into your main category. There are millions of eBooks under ‘Crime Fiction’ so you must be more targeted in the subcategories you select for your eBook.
